The plane crashed into a medical college complex shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, resulting in 241 fatalities. - *Compensation*: Air India announced an interim payment of ₹25 lakh (approximately £21,000) to the families of the deceased and the sole survivor, in addition to the ₹1 crore (approximately £85,000) support already announced by Tata Sons.

- *Investigation*: A high-level committee, led by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, has been formed to investigate the causes of the crash and recommend measures to prevent future incidents. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is also conducting an investigation.
